A simple but expressive setting of Psalm 51. In the newly-revised Roman Lectionary, it is sung at Mass on Ash Wednesday and on the 1st Sunday in Lent (A), and it is one of the Common Psalms for Lent.

Text: This translation is the one used in the New Roman Lectionary so this setting may be used for the responsorial psalm at Mass.

Scoring: Cantor, people, and organ.

Difficulty: the organ part and the people’s refrain are easy. The chanted verses, which are sung by a solo cantor, are fairly easy too.
